Life In Butterville

It’s life in Butterville.

Outside my world people are putting on ties or makeup, suiting up to show up… Meanwhile in Butterville, Jazzy and I see “safe light” down the shell road, and pass the house where four white cats surround the trash cans like statues. Bryan, the redneck CB radio guy rounds the corner on his PeeWee Herman bike, red light flashing to warn of his imminent arrival. Getting home at daylight from a night of “up to no good”, he complains of the morning traffic.

Down on the corner, the little goth girl dressed in black, has one last cigarette before she gets on the school bus, off to middle school, or is it now high school? Like John Lennon once said “She’s So Hard To See”.

It’s just time for the Sand Hill Cranes to fly over, sounding off. It must be Thursday, because the paper is on the ground in front of the house, first one of the week, warning us that another Butterville weekend is just a day away!

And then I have to update this story. In Butterville “Bryan the Redneck CB Radio Guy”, made the big road trip. Heart failure I reckon.

The little Goth girl lost her daddy in a motorcycle crash. Doofus rode his Harley straight into a Railroad  Crossing apparatus. It was 2:30 AM. Nothing good ever happens on the road at 2:30 AM.

We had a bunch of loser lowlife types who moved in to Butterville, but decent folks won in the end.

The good part is the Sand Hill Cranes (who live for 40 years by the way) are still having babies, and sounding off when they pass by!
